Ramadan 2027 in Medan, Indonesia

Sehri and Iftar in Medan

For Medan, the evening fast opens at local sunset, shown as 6:09 pm today. The pre-dawn cutoff is calculated separately from the Fajr setting; sunrise is not used as the start of the fast. The page uses Medan’s coordinates (3.59, 98.67) and the Asia/Jakarta time zone.

Sunrise-to-sunset daylight in Medan lasts 12 hours 1 minute today, and the solstice-to-solstice change is comparatively small at this latitude. The fasting interval is longer than this daylight figure because it begins at Fajr before sunrise.

For comparison, sunset in Jayapura is 5:26 pm today, 163 minutes earlier than in Medan. Travellers should therefore switch to the timetable for the place where they are actually observing the fast rather than carrying one city’s times across Indonesia.

This timetable uses the Karachi prayer calculation setting. The calculation notes explain how the site handles Fajr, Isha and unusual daylight conditions, so that general methodology is not repeated on every location page.
