What Rugby World Cup is
Australia hosts the eleventh men’s Rugby World Cup from 1 October to 13 November 2027, across eight venues in seven cities.
It is the first edition with 24 teams rather than 20, and the first branded as the Men’s Rugby World Cup.
When it falls, and why the date moves
The countdown at the top of this page is live, and the date beneath it is the next occurrence. This is a one-off date and does not repeat.
It is grouped here under Sport, alongside the other observances that share its calendar.
What is coming up next
Once this date passes, the countdown moves straight on to the next occurrence β you do not need a different page for next year. See the full list of upcoming events, or use the countdown timer for a date of your own.
